I own a Century Machinery scroll saw and was wondering what type of oil I use to maintain it. I have been told basic crude motor oil, but I don't even know where to put it at.

Seizing Saw?
My Mastercraft Maximum scroll saw, which has always had a bit more vibration than I would like (better saws are simply not in the budget), suddenly seemed to seize up tonight. It's only six months old, and is used about 6 hours a week. It was making what I can best describe as a "knocking"...Last edited by wood-n-things; 10-06-2011, 10:09 PM. -
Newbie with Dewalt DW788 type 2
Hi all, just joined. New to scrolling. Got a DW788 type II (I know there's some issues with bottom clamp wedge on some of them, mine appears to be good). I am searching for owner's manual.
Would appreciate any tips, advice etc. before strting to use saw. I know it needs lubrication, etc.... -
Do I need to oil a DeWalt 788
I got a scrollsaw for Christmas, I love it. Anyway once in a while I hear this clunking noise from under the table. Then I was thinking maybe it needs oil or something and I can't find the manual. thanks -
oil finish only
Does anyone ever use an oil finish only. I use blend seed oil and then apply a satin poly on top. Can you get away with a couple a coats of an oil finish and will it look as if if has a finish or just like raw wood? Also,if you do just use an oil finish, will it oil up on the surface when under heavy...
