  • Giraffe Height Gauge for kid

Just finished this project for a kid bedroom decorated with a jungle theme. Used JGR Giraffe's pattern, "twisted" the neck a little to fit it on the side of the gauge.
Giraffe was made of cherry wood, African mahogany, maple, Santos rosewood and Madagascar rosewood.

  • Starting a new project - Lola & Moustique

This is a project I have designed earlier this year and that is now on my workbench as I have just started the cutting and some shaping.

Made the custom pattern based on the dog (Lola) and cat (Moustique) picture below... I can tell you up front that the cat will be my greatest challenge...

  • Small geese - intarsia project

Just finished these 2 small Canadian geese. They are both from JGR. When you buy the large geese patterns, there is also a simplified version, with less pieces so we can make them in a smaller size. Both are approximately 10.5 " x 6 ".

Wood used: Cherry and Santos Rosewood for...

    Latest intarsia- Bear Cub

It has been a while since I posted a picture... not that I didn't want to share but I have been taking it very slowly since January on intarsia. I needed a break after being in a hurry for all the Christmas gifts! Only did 3 projects in the first 3 months!

    Welcome wreath with birds

Howdy group. Been working on that piece for the past month... very much part time though. Been struggling with all those pieces moving around, trying to figure out the best way to fit and assemble the project. Today, I glued up smaller areas around each bird to make it easier for me to trace and...

    Fruity magnets

Those fruity magnets are easy to make and also fun because it doesn't take long to see the end results. The most challenging part is probably the grape shaping!!! Did lots of trial and error on these. I took this picture after only one coat of gel varnish.

I made the designs. They all...

    Whimsical house teapot

Hi all! Been working on that funny little teapot on and off for the past weeks. Weather was too nice to spend too much time "inside" the shop!! Thanks MikeyD for your pattern! I'm doing this for my sister in law who felt in love with it when she saw Mike's piece.

    I just assembled...

  • Shaping progress on Winnie the pooh

Hi, I am currently doing a Winnie the Pooh for a new born (the boy is not born yet!)
The baby shower party is on Aug 8 so I still have some time ahead to complete it and the future mom is preparing the baby's room with Winnie(s) so I think she will be pleased with one more.

  • Pink version of apple bossom & humming

Just thought I would share with you my recent "pink flower" version of my "Apple blossom & hummingbird pattern"... I used Bubinga for the flowers this time. Much harder to shape & sand then pine, but I think its worth it.
I am also posting the "white flower"...

  • Bullfrog... cute creature!

After the froggie challenge, I was ready to make other kinds of frogs. As kids love frogs and I am preparing for my "local art show" in July, I thought this would be a kewl idea. So decided to make some bullfrogs and other "regular" frogs. Only posting here one of them with some...

  • A hummingbird and a rooster

Been playing with a bit of woodburning lately, after I followed the "Winter Birdhouse Woodburning Tutorial" , by Susan Irish on the other forum... I don't find it easy to do but I like to explore the woodburning / intarsia combination potential.

Here are my latest 2 projects...
