replied to DW788 Still Worth It?
I own 2 Type 1 788's that I picked up used off of Craigslist for a song. They have served me well and still run great. This is not to say I haven't had a few minor problems through the years. Nothing I wasn't able to fix myself or that would make me think bad about them. Good solid saw that kept me...

    Hi Everyone - I'm back!!

It's been a while since I've logged into the forum so wanted to say I'm back and say hello to everyone. I see the gang is all here and there are many new faces around as well. Life has been very busy and I'm still dealing with some back issues from being rear ended almost a year ago. I've been cutting...

I finish all of my trivets in Danish Oil. Haven't had any problems or complaints and it holds up to the heat of a pot just fine.

Hang tough Rob and sorry to have missed you in Saratoga. Just think of how spry you're going to be getting around there next year! After getting this done you'll only be 5.5 million behind the 6 million dollar man, but should feel like a million bucks when all is said and done.

  • Very cool site Scott, saving that for later. Bet that dental drill works out better then the dremel (no pics as I wasn't happy with how it came out) I tried it with last year after being inspired from my first trip to the show. Glad you and Bruce made it all the way back alright.

    Saratoga Project Pics

Here's a few projects I found interesting. A lot of really great and inspiring pieces. Two of my favorites were the celtic bowl and the dress. I really liked how movement was captured in the piece....

replied to is this copyright infringement?
What you describe would be copyright infringement. It does not matter if it's small, local, or otherwise. The copying of the picture is direct infringement unless you are authorized to do so. If you were to use the actual coloring book page and cut from that it would be considered a derivative and still...

    replied to DW788 Lifespan?
I have a pair of Type I Dewalt's that were purchased used. Both overall have been good saws with only a couple of minor issues. One thing I've noticed on the saw I use (my wife and kids use the other one) is having to push down on the top arm. I've been thinking it was the thumbscrew but now I'm going...

  • Jim,

Whether you were sitting, standing, or upside down on your head those all really turned out impressively. I saw a book on something similar to those bark houses and would like to try my hand at one of those sometime.
