Hi Patsy, welcome to scroll sawing. You can do larger projects on a 16” saw. Much of how is covered here already. I started out with a 15” or 16” Delta and now use a 22” Hegner. Carole - I haven't done anything recently . I must do some more bowls. The OSB (oriented stand board) has fairly large chips that it is made from. There are actually spots where tiny openings go through the sides. I will have to go to Dave's app and do some...Leave a comment:

Bowls
One picture is of 3 different bowls I have sawn a few years ago. The oval bowl from 3/4 inch walnut and is finished with tung oil and the square bowl sawn from 5/8 OSB sub floor is finished with satin waterbased varathane. Thank you. I cleaned and regreased the roller bearings then put the new parts on my Dewalt. When replacing the clamps I noticed that there is some space between the sides of the new clamp and the arm tip that has the roller bearing inside. Thank you for all your comments and help. I found one of my wing bolts to clamp the blade had a bent tip (probably caused by over tightening). I ended up getting a set of Pegas replacement clamps. Bottom of blades bending like a hockey stick blade on Dewalt 788
I have a Dewalt 788 since new, now about 15 years old. When detaching the bottom blade holder, lifting the arm and feeding the blade down through the top of fretwork after a few times the end of the blade is bent like a hockey stick blade. If the wood happens to be 1/2 inch or more thick the blade eventually... -
