Just a few tests.
(#7 Pegas), parens are a pain, but it does work
"#7" or '#7' or #7_
I'm not recommending any of these, I just find the functionality of this bug interesting.

I've tried the Yeswelder wire in the cheap Harbor Freight Platinum, and it worked very well.
The only welder I have that will do Aluminum is the AHP Tig, and Aluminum Tig is kicking my butt. Tig with steel is a walk in the park in comparison. I have a ton of Aluminum "Coupons"...Last edited by hotshot; 03-21-2022, 08:00 PM.

Goodness, the site shows examples cut at over half an inch thick, that seems remarkable for a non-CO2 type of laser. I wonder how that works with the focus challenges of deep cutting/engraving. That technology is really coming along. Will be interesting to see what you can do with it....

Is alcohol stains the same as the Alcohol Dies? I think Rolf used something like that in a project not too long ago. Love the design and look of this piece.

a prosumer product is targeted at serious non-professionals/enthusiastic hobbiest.
My model is a ShopTask 1720XM TC from 1996, so it has some age. It does have power feed. The company was renamed and they are now ChicagoLathe.

Yep, I don't have a bleeder gun, so I have to wait on the bleeder part. I can turn it on, and it pumps a ton of air. It's amazing, it feels like a fan at about 3 or 4 feet away, all coming out of a hole the size of a garden hose.
I have a prosumer combination mill/lathe that I got for...

Well pretty well done with this project.
I did like EvilBadgers idea to use the Apollo part to bleed air outside the case for non-bleeder guns, so I filled/sealed the hole I had drilled and have the Apollo part on order. I probably could have made that part easy enough, but I'm ADHD, and...Last edited by hotshot; 02-13-2022, 09:34 PM.

Had a little bout with Covid, so been a little fearful to brave the cold shop and incite covid's wrath. But I think I'm clear of covid now, so today, on with the winter coat, and out to the scroll saw to cut up an old license plate, to mount my switch/fuse. I tried to create a pattern for the fuse,...Last edited by hotshot; 02-08-2022, 01:54 PM.

The older guns were all "bleeder guns". Those guns always have air being released from the gun (bleeding), even when you don't have the trigger pulled. This keeps cool air moving through the turbine all the time. With this type of gun, you don't need the 3/16" bleeder hole.

My project got postponed until I get back from Disney.
I bought an scr controller to control speed, I may add that to the project. I also ordered a little 3” screened soffit vent to use to vent the hot air coming through the motor. So waiting on that from Amazon. Also waiting on...

DIY HVLP Turbine System
Hey, I acknowledge this won't be of interest to many of you, but maybe one or two of you will like it.
If HVLP isn't familiar to you, it stands for High Velocity Low Pressure. The technology is used primarily by cabinet makers, fine furniture finishers, or is increasingly used for painting...Last edited by hotshot; 01-19-2022, 02:43 PM.

Duke, as you discovered, the 3921 is a rebrand of horrible design. I hope you get the chance the try a truly good saw someday, you will be shocked.
Perhaps the Wen LL2156 is that better saw, it's hard to tell this early. It is more that 3 times more expensive than the 3921. ($110 vs $400),...Last edited by hotshot; 01-17-2022, 12:22 AM.

Hey Rolf, on the 21" I do sometimes have to add more tension when I'm cutting wood. I am a top feeder, so I clamp the blade into the top clamp first, feed down through the hole to the bottom clamp, then push down on the top arm to create some tension before I tighten the clamp. Then when I hit...Last edited by hotshot; 01-16-2022, 01:11 PM.
