I keep a sheet of waxpaper next to my saw & give the table a rub with it before I begin scrolling every day.

Subscribe to the magazine & do some of the projects. They tell you which blade the author used & pretty soon you will be able to judge for yourself.

Dan, I see what you mean. I have been to Chamberlain, SD & although its not the end of the world, you can see it from there. I thought they had a lumberyard though.

CDL, I agree with UBG. My 1st saw was a Benchmade or Benchtop something like that, whatever KMart sells. They were on sale for $60-$70. The blades would break just by looking at them & if you didn't clamp it down it would run away from you. My 2nd saw wasn't much better & I almost quit...

Only a handful of states allow spearing anymore, but spearing fish using a decoy goes back forever & was probably started by the Native Americans trying to obtain food in the winter. They would chop a hole in the ice & then lay down over the hole & cover themselves & the hole with a...Last edited by Randy Huckeby; 03-09-2010, 10:00 AM.

Steve,
There was an article in Woodcarving Illustrated a few years back with patterns. I can't remember the authors name but would recognize it if I heard it again. As I recall he had caught a Northern Pike on it, but they will bite on anything. I like to make fish decoys that are used in...

Hey Nick,
I would take the defective piece out of your inventory & enjoy it yourself. I would do this with any defective piece as you want to develope a reputation for doing topnotch work. Just my opinion.

Hi, I started with a Benchmade or something like that from Kmart. I could break a blade just by staring at it. Next got a Dremel, it was a little better but still had some problems. I finally got a DeWalt & am very happy with it. Scrolling is so much more enjoyable when you don't have to fight...

Yeah Schmidty, I agree Maris should be in the hall of fame! My neighbor pitched against him when they both played American Legion ball. He said Roger hit one that probably hasn't come down yet!

Hi Schmidty,
The logo looks good! I like Yankee pinstripes myself! From near Fargo, ND home of 61 Home Run King #9 Roger Maris!

Hey Mikey,
What is this? I'm gone a couple of months only to come back, check in, & find you in trouble again! I need to leave again for awhile. Do I need to hire someone to watch you?

Went from bottom feeding on a dremel to top feeding on a dewalt but about the time I think that I am getting comfortable with it I have to leave for a week & learn all over again when I get back. I am going to reretire in 10 months & then saw & carve all that I can!

Toni,
Must be a coincidence--I am looking for a paddle pattern to cut & burn if you happen to find it. Thanks in advance!Last edited by Randy Huckeby; 02-27-2007, 08:09 PM.
