It's been a while since I've participated in this forum, but I do remember that quilt we did a few years back. That was pretty fun and interesting. I'm going to present this to my scrollsaw club and see how many of them are willing to participate also.

Hey Evie. Sorry I missed you at the show. I was there with the Hemet Area Scrollers right beside Don and the Inland Empire club. It was great fun not only participating in the show, but also meeting all the wonderfully talented people there and sharing ideas. It was also nice to meet Don and have...

That would twist my mind all sorts of different ways! If you can share the source for that pattern I would love it. Thanks for showing.

When I started doing fretwork it took me about 2 to 3 minutes to feed the blade for each hole. My advice is practice! Just keep at it and you will get better and faster.
I have three saws, Delta, DeWalt, and Dremel. The DeWalt is my primary saw right now and it takes me the longest...

I usually scan it into the computer so I can print as many as I need. This is great when I'm doing ornaments and want to print several from different parts of the pattern pullout onto one piece of paper. It also gives me the option to change the color of the lines if I want to on some of the fine...

When you clamp the blade up (top or bottom feed) it's always a good idea to push down a bit on the upper clamp before you tighten the blade in place. Every once in a while I'll forget to do this and I will have the same problem. See if this helps.

That is going to be amazing when it is finished! Can't wait to see it. Good luck on getting the rights to sell it.

These are all great ideas. Some we already do, others we came up with and were shot down. I'm going to suggest a few of them at our next meeting this weekend and see how it goes. Hopefully somebody likes something. My personal favorites are Gill's earrings, John's doll pusher and hobby horses, and...

I just did my first two this weekend with somebody who goes quite often to craft fairs and farmer's markets. Most of what he does is the trucks with trailers, but he includes a couple of cars or some animals. With animals he sells them for $40, and with the cars $30. Things didn't go so well for...

Rob,
I don't know if anybody with our club mentioned wands, but that sounds great! What little girl doesn't like to pretend to be a fairy princess. I also thought about a tea set but couldn't figure out the best way to do it. That sounds good also.
Thanks!!

Great ideas!
Thanks for all the great ideas. Some of these we already do or came up with. A few of us like the earrings or pendants, but others argue they are too hard. I'm thinking of making up a couple of samples to show them and see what they think. They also tried jewelry boxes...

Toys for girls??
Like most scroll saw clubs do, ours is making toys to donate around the holiday season. We are making cars, trucks, animals, and maybe rocking horses. For the girls we have a couple of ideas like doll cradles or rocking chairs, but they take longer to make then simple cars and trucks. Does anybody...

That is a very interesting pattern. I bet it's going to look great when you are done with the relief carving.

My son found him before I had a chance to look. The worst part is he came up and showed me!! Takes all the fun out of the hunt.

Some craft stores sell what they call bud vases which are basically shorter test tubes. Some are glass but most are plastic and they are pretty much the same size around.
