Glad to here that DeWalt is taking good care of you. I would probably have taken it to a machine shop and asked a favor if it had been mine. Mine is older and doesn't have a problem.

Mooner, please don't get me wrong. I think it's a great tool for a lot of people. I didn't mean that something had to be difficult to have artistic value, I guess I just have a thing for being a little more hands-on about some things. Somewhere around here I have the very first issue, and I've got to say that the progression I've seen to date has been a steady improvement. If it helps circulation, it'll only improve the magazine because it will make more resources ($) available. I doubt it will be long before SSW is either bi-monthly...Leave a comment:

Walnut has a very tight grain, and it's not as dense as many hardwoods are. Pick up a piece of oak and a piece of walnut of similar size, and you'll immediately see what I mean. This makes it easier to cut than say oak or maple.Leave a comment:
