scroll saw arm lifter
I have a delta 695 20" scroll saw. (Not to be confused with the 690 which looks like the Dewalt 788). My wife does not have the full use of her right arm so I am looking for a way to lock up the arm when changing blades without her having to use the existing arm lift lock toward the back of the...Last edited by joevm; 12-21-2013, 11:58 AM. -
Didn't mean to be flipant. It's pretty hot here right now so I'll be waiting for it to cool off a bit before I try the pattern. Thanks for your effort. -

Thanks for the pattern. Looks pretty good. I'll give it a try and let you know the results. It will be a while before I do it, however. I'm still learning to cut a straight line.

Thanks to all that have replied so far. As far as humidifiers or swamp coolers are concerned that poses another question. Wouldn't the humidty generated have an adverse effect on tools and wood? (ie: rust and a higher moisture content in the wood that I store...Leave a comment:

Garage/Workshop Cooling
I live in Phoenix, AZ. Gets pretty hot here (100+). Would like to be able to do some scroll sawing in the summer but it's to darn hot. Any suggestions on how I can cool down my garage/workshop to a bearable temp.? Central airconditioning is not an option. -
1955 Ford Victoria 2dr Hardtop
I'm looking for a ss pattern for a 1955 Ford Victoria 2dr hardtop. I already found the Wildwood 1955 Ford Sunliner Convertible clock pattern. My brother is having a 75th birthday coming up and I would like to be able to give him a finished project of his first new car. Thanks.

Anyone Cut mat board?
I am a semi-pro photographer and I frame my photos with mat board. Would like to know if anyone has used a scroll saw to cut designs in a mat board and if so, what size/type blade would you use?Last edited by joevm; 07-09-2012, 11:42 AM. -

Johnson Paste Wax and AZ heat?
Ok, I've read about using Johnson Paste Wax on SS Tables but how does the wax hold up under AZ heat in the garage (100 degrees plus). Although I don't plan on working in such heat how will the Johnson Paste Wax hold up in the heat. Haven't used it yet, I'm waiting for a reply. Thanks. -

Yep - I'm a newbie
I am brand new to scroll sawing. (Which translates into - I know nothing about it). Just got a new Delta 695 20" scroll saw and in the instructions it states to "secure stand to floor before use". Is that necessary? Not to excited about putting holes into my garage floor.
