To be honest I really don't know what the graphite was for, it is in a tube that just says graphite lubricate. I had originally bought it for the wheels of pinewood derby cars but still had alot left. All my gears are cut and not cut oversize and sanded down to size, it just makes it more of a challenge...

Mostly I use Ocooch and www.dndhardwoodsonline.com for all of my thin boards unless it's something odd then I check www.exoticwoodusa.com also www.cocoboloking.com www.heritagewood.com and www.cookwoods.com If I can't get what I need from any of those I usually just do without.

Genesis Clock Update
Well all the gears are cut, sanded, and filed. I stacked it together today to see how well everything fit and to see how well the brass bushings were going to work with the mild steel arbors. After putting a small amount of graphite on the arbors for lubrication and gave it a try. The gears turn so...

I use my airbrush alot and for different things. The paint does have to be thinned more for an airbrush than for a regular or automotive type sprayer. I almost use the creatix brand airbrush paint for everything and have never had to thin it down any. I have used it for stain too and it worked quite...

Hopefully the next time I have them for the weekend I can get her to let me post some pics but she's still a little shy.
Rolf, Yes that is the clock in the background. Work has picked up alot and I've not had much time to work on it.

Well you have ordered yourself a nice saw I think you'll really be happy with it. As far as wood goes, in my opinion for making boxes and things like that I use red cedar and mahogany. Poplar is not a bad choice for boxes either as far as width goes I usually just get whatever width I need for the project...

A Nice Suprise This Weekend
I was out working in the shop alittle this past weekend when my daughter came in and told me she wanted to learn to use the scroll saw. Well I've never been able to tell her no so I moved over and she got her a piece of wood and started cutting. She made her a heart and told me she wanted to learn more...

Nice idea. I wanted to make my stand moveable too because of the limited space in my shop but couldn't figure out how to make it stable as well as moble. I never thought of making it to where the wheels were not on the floor when it was not being moved. I'll have to try to make something like it for...

Well this is just my opinion but I prefer solid wood but I also use alot of plywood too but only good quality baltic birch. Like Woodsman said it all really depends on what you are making.

Amazing work. My first truck I ever owned was a cab over so I really like it. I bought the plans for it probably 6 months ago but just haven't got around to it yet. Again amazing work!

Here is the thread I had on making pistol grips. The shaping wasn't what was the hard part to me it was the carving of the backside to allow for all the clip release lever and springs and saftey. http://www.scrollsawer.com/forum/gen...-saw/45164.htm

Nice work. I've always thought that letters and numbers were some of the hardest things to do because if you're cutting a fretwork pattern or something else from a pattern and mess up most of the time only you and maybe someone who knows the pattern will notice. But with letters and numbers everybody...
