Hay Brien, there is no shame in ply. i wish I could do all I wished to do in hard woods. but not budget compatible. this is what I think, I wont to do many patterns. and some of them are really hard, wood warps, its expensive, and ply wood is not cheap ether. good ply any way. and it looks almost just...

Hi John. I am wondering if maybe, your blade is not lined up with top and bottom clamps. and are your clamps tight. some times the blade can bend back, if you might be pushing. witch we all do . personally, I have problems with FD blades. they are really good and so sharp for sure. oak is very hard....

thanks Rolf. my work surface is just my work bench covered with some air port floor tiles. I got them from a friend. I guess you can still get them. i like protecting my tables with them . they can be cut to size. 1/4" thick. 3x3' wide.

thanks so much guys. I really loved doing this project. one thing though. I posted the round picture. the first one was pedros. finished project. I only had it in my files to look at for directions on how it was put together. ouch. sorry pedro. so I will show my piece. dang. I thought something looked...

the overmattele.
just another project I finally finished. hope you like it. it was a real chore. did this in white quoter sawn oak. not fun to glue up. but got it done. it is 3'x4'.
