I've been using the loctite brand gel CA glues--can get them at walmart/lowes/home depot/etc. I put the CA glue on one side, and a thin film of Arlenes or wood glue on the other. When I put the two pieces together I've got a few seconds and then the joint sets up pretty good.

I've had that happen many times with a twisted blade. Doesn't take much, just a little twist with the saw not running. Can't tell by looking or feeling the blade, but it won't cut straight for anything! Sometimes when I'm sitting a little differently the blade seems to want to cut differently, but...

I hate working with hand-drawn patterns. The first thing I do with a pattern is get it into the computer, into corelDraw. Than I have to edit the thing so that the lines are smooth/regular, the circles circular, and everything 1/2 pt thick. I've had to totally re-draw some patterns before I could...

Update: Found out the next door neighbor--well actually the next-door neighbor is a family of cows, so that would be the next-next door neighbor--burns wood, so we traded a bag of sassafras, redheart & ziricote scraps for some sweet corn. Thanks for all the ideas!

I think of comparing laser to scrollsaw is like photography to painting. There is an art to photography in itself, just don't claim it's a painting.t If you're using the laser to express your OWN idea/pattern, I would consider that an art--same thing for those CNC routers. However, if you're just...

I figure tools from Harbor Freight are "demo units". Pick one up from HF, see if it's potentially useful--if so, buy a "real" version. Otherwise, I'm only out a few bucks. Sometimes the HF version works out well--got a lot of bar clamps from them that do the job.

Also, are you using it on the same (type) floor as before? Sitting on a solid concrete floor there's little vibration, but on a wood frame floor (over basement or on 2nd floor) the vibrations are very variable depending if the saw is on a floor joist or not. Doesn't help that one house was built very...

The way I read it, it sounds like we're excluded from the major $$$$$ testing, but still sounds like there may be the "alternative testing", whatever that might be... Sorry, but I just don't trust bureaucracies trying to justify their existence. (Had to deal with that while in the AF)

I've been getting the thin plywood from Aircraftspruce.com. Last order they chopped the sheets to the size I like to use (1'x4') at no additional charge. They've got the thin stuff starting at 1/64" (or the metric equivalent).

The problem with raw sawdust is that as it decomposes, the organisms remove nitrogen from the soil. However, once composted, the nitrogen is released back into the material. I've had real good luck using it to break down the thick, clay soils in OH & IN. Makes the soil more "loamy"....

The way I look at lasers is that they're like photography is to painting. If you're using a laser to express your artistic idea (i.e., original design), you have a place in a fine-arts/crafts show. However, if you're just mass-producing someone else's pattern, you might as well be from China. ...

Well, we're in the new house now. Was able to speak with the guy the owner hired to take care of the landscaping; he said we could put a compost pile over in the corner. Just put some boards (1x12) up to mark the spot & when we leave he'll take what's left and scatter it around. Probably get...

Just got a spare EX-21. I'm in the middle of a move, so things aren't set up yet. However, I took it out of the shipping box and threw it on a mobile table just to make sure the thing works. Even though it's still bolted to the shipping board and it's not sitting even on the table (some moving junk...
