  • Thank you for responding. I usually get such a quick response for questions on here so I didn't even give consideration to people being busy. I do apologize. I also didn't realize that black vehicles were harder to make patterns for. I still have issues making patterns but I'm not giving up yet......lol!!!...

The wood is a 1 x 6 in red oak, so it's actually 3/4" thick. It only happened in that one place so maybe I was pushing sideways.....I'm still getting the hang of the difference in the way the saw cuts compared to my other saw. It just really surprised me that it did that.....thanks for the info......

    Cutting issue

I recently received a Dewalt DW788 scroll saw for Christmas and I LOVE IT!! However, I have run across an issue that I have never had before. I do a lot of fretwork and I had cut a mallard gun. My son noticed today that on one of the ducks in the piece the front is cut correctly with the head of the...

I will have to take some pics to post - I will get them as soon as possible and see what can be done. I'm not really sure what you mean by "resaw" the joint. The piece I cut it out of was actually plywood so I can see the the layers in it. If I sanded it down that 1/16" it would work.....but...

    Pattern/wood thickness issue

I have a pattern I'm trying to cut. I love it....However, the pattern calls for 3/16" thick wood. All I have on hand that is even close is, of course, 1/4". So, I cut it from the 1/4" wood. The problem is that the pattern has pieces that insert inside each other to keep it together....
