    replied to Disc sander ?
Eastwood seems to market the same rebranded model for metalwork and auto body. I bought one of these little Scheppach 4 X 36 disc/belt sanders from Grainger for about the same price as that Rikon in the link a while back and it's been working well for small woodworking projects.

    SCHEPPACH...

  • Is the part cast iron or cast aluminum? If so maybe it can be welded back together. That would probably cost a lot less than the price of the new part.

    replied to Delta Parts etc.

I saw the banner above on the ereplacement parts site stating that Delta parts orders will be significantly delayed because their supplier is moving to a new warehouse. Moving to a new warehouse sounds better than bankruptcy, but I don't recall Delta ever really being known to have very...

Maybe check on eBay as well. Currently there is a Delta SS350 with stand up for bid and it looks to be in pretty good condition. That is the one in the old PM review that you mentioned. The listing says free local pickup and that it's is located in NY, but I see you're in NJ, so don't know how far it...

For that price, I think I would just use my Dremel or Rotozip with an 1/8-inch ceramic bit.

    Super Sharps SS Blades

Just wondering if anyone is using these blades? I must say that they seem to be extremely expensive at $65.00 per 100, so was wondering if that price is somehow justified. Do they really cut any better than the FD blades I’ve been using that are approximately half the price for a full gross of...

    replied to reciprocating saws
I don’t know if I would use it for cutting logs, but I have the 13 Amp Dewalt DW311 that I will use with a 12-inch pruning blade to trim a few branches occasionally. It has a 1-1/8-inch stroke with an orbital cut, which is something I think all reciprosaws should have if you plan on doing any...

  • You know, I went through that very situation when I was looking to purchase my first scroll saw a couple of months ago. I wasn’t ready to pony up $500.00 or more for a larger saw and all the offerings I looked at from Ryobi, Skill, Craftsman, PC, Genesis, Rikon and a few other generic brands looked...

It looks like Sears sells parts for Pro-Tech, but unfortunately the #330026-00 air diaphragm for their 3301 and 3303 saws is no longer available.

New Delta 40-695 20-Inch Scroll Saw

I don’t know if anyone has seen this yet, but Delta just came out with a new model 40-695 20-inch scroll saw. From the picture and specs on their site, it looks like it is very similar to the 40-690 in many ways, so I have to wonder if maybe they’ll be retiring their older Dewalt clone sometime...

replied to clear plastic storage tubes
I just bought a 10-pack of the 6" X 5/8" clear polycarbonate test tubes from McMaster for $4.22. The caps were sold separately at $1.56 for a 10-pack, so the total for my blade storage tubes was $5.78.
I ordered some other stuff as well, but even so regular FedEx ground shipping...
