Thank you all for the birthday wishes!
Yes I have been absent from both the shop and the forum.
Just struggling with some minor health issues but hope to return to both very soon.

Our local business improvement association has summer parties in the park.
Many vendors have 10x10 popups and sell all kinds of wares.
While I was at our local fair a lady had a display at the fair and one at the park. The park outsold the fair dramatically.
She was not selling crafts...

I was just being silly and thinking it would be cool to do that as a postcard. But thats a bit much. It would make a nice serving tray though.

If you take a scrap of wood and drill a horizontal hole in it the same size as the dowel, you can insert the dowel.
On the end of the block you can cut a slot. This will cut into the dowel.
It is not a bad jig because you can repeat the process and get consistant results.

I do both, stand and sit. My saw is quite high so even sitting I need a tall stool.
I also have an adjustable footrest on my saw, Not that I adjust it too much.

Thanks for the information Norm. It is good to have the input from a manufacturers point of view.
I am very pleased with my Excalibur.
Funny before I got my Excalibur I was really thinking about getting a saw manufactured in the UK, but the shipping and converting to North American standards...

Bandsaw Vid
This is a cool vid. Bandsaw magic. [VIDEO] Dangerous operation of a bandsaw. but the project is cool.
The fact that he is doing it freehand and as quick as he is doing it, shows he has done this project countless times.
I know we do this on the scrollsaw all the time, but bandsaw blades...

I like that. The price sounds pretty reasonable. I like the dust collector. It may be a good shop project!

I have made a couple of circle cutters for scroll saws.
One was an auxillary table with a slot in it. the slot has a sliding arm with a pin in it to have the wood pivot.
Slide the arm out to the radius of the circul you want to cut.
One thing I did find, was the direction you feed...

I made a hand mirror using 3 layers of wood.
The front, the back and a ring with an inner diameter of the mirror.
You could make a cover using a wooden hinge of contrasting wood.
here is a picture of the back of the hand mirror

I agree with all the comments so far.
I see from the pictures you have the tension set by the upper clamp. Rotating the handle moves the upper clamp away from the lower clamp.
Is there any sort of a cam operation to adjust tension too.
I would recommend that for speed of blade change...
