I have the handle all the way to the right when I install the blade, but moving the handle all the way to the left after installation does not provide the tension I want. The only thing I have not done is to push down on the upper arm, I will try that next. Thanks for the help. -
Dewalt DW788 Blade Tension
I am having a problem with the blade tension on the new DW788 I bought last week. There is a serious lack of instructions on how to properly install the blade but based on my experience with my old saw, I am sure I have it installed correctly. However, I don't seem to be able to get the proper tension... -

I have a Craftsman saw too, model 21610, and was always pulling the blade out of the bottom holder. When I started scrolling last year, I didn't know about cleaning the oil off the blades but I did learn to sand the end of the thumb screw. The sanding only helped for a short time. What about using a spiral blade that is the same diameter as the drill hole? The line will be wider than if you used a flat blade but you should not get the “rain drop” effect.Leave a comment:

I know this is an old post but I was looking for information on adhesives and found this. Several of you said to spray the adhesive on the back of the pattern. Just thought I would let everyone know that I fixed my saw this weekend. I had removed the hold down foot several months ago and moved the support rod up as high as it would go so that it would be out of the way. I am not sure what moved recently to cause this problem, but the upper arm was hitting...Leave a comment:
