I have the Porter Cable one. It is excellent. But it only takes 1/4" shank bits so it uses regular router bits . Check with some tool suppliers and see if there is a collet that can be fitted in the opening to accept your dremel bits as well.

Couple things I have heard regarding some info posted above.
.005 back to front movement on G4 is practically impossible on a parallel arm saw which the G4 is so I take that with a grain of salt.
Excessive vibration at higher speeds was mentiond. It is my understanding...

Here is something that has been entirely missed in this thread. Your table on the excaliber is very similar if not identical to the table on a DeWalt saw . It is heavy cast iron and is an integeral part of the design of your saw to prevent vibration. If you remove that and replace it with a light plexiglass...Last edited by Sparkplug; 02-25-2005, 11:49 PM.

36 speeds are possible on a P-20 saw. That is about 35 more speeds than any experienced scroller needs. The belt is stretchy tough round neoprene and the edges of the pulleys are nicely rounded off. Some that have never seen a P-20 and just talk from hear-say are either misinformed or are not aware...Last edited by Sparkplug; 02-12-2005, 04:20 PM.

Re: Plastiglas
Randy,
I also retract my doubts on the backward blade cutting plexiglass idea. I based my thought on the fact that even blades with no teeth that are made for cutting styrofoam with a jigsaw have a pointed chisel type 'front' on them and I figured the the same principle...

Re: Plastiglas
3_M Mike,
Whether it is a jig saw or a scrollsaw the blade has teeth on the front and is flat on the back. I also cannot for the life of me imagine how using the back of the blade would work . It would be lucky to cut styrofoam or paper on the back of the blade so...

3_M Mike,
It took a few minutes to catch on about the 4 months early. You must have meant April Fools day about the backward scrollsaw blade ? ? ?

Re: New Scroll Saw Website
Yes the picture with the wagons is there now. Thanks. They look very nice. From a set of twelve ? .
Would be nice to see the whole set when you get around to doing it. Looks like a lot of work to make all the wheels.

Re: New Scroll Saw Website
Hi Ho. I checked your misc album and the wagons were not there. I have an interest in wagons from days gone by. Only reason I wanted to see them is because there are some rodeos in the summer between Sandpoint and Boise Idaho and quite often there is a covered...

Re: New Scroll Saw Website
I would also like to see some pictures of your wagons. Must be really hard to scroll something as complicated as wagons. I sure like looking at all the nice carvings on your site.

Re: Heating garage shop
Dont know how electricity rates are where you live but I find this 4800 watt construction heater very ecconomical to operate. It is suspended on a couple chains up near the ceiling and is facing on an angle downward. It is thermostatically controlled and fan forced.They...
