I'm thinking of buying a Ryobi 16" scroll saw. Does anyone have any comments, both pro and con, regarding this saw?

Hi Janis....very nice job!! I don't know if this will help you, but I bought a bag of popsicle sticks at the dollar store. Then I glued various grits of sandpaper to each, from the tip down about 2 inches. Then I trimmed off the excess sandpaper and used a Sharpie to mark each stick with the grit. I... -
Thanks for all the comments. I used them for the first time the other day and absolutely love them!! Seeing as how I'm a bit challenged when it comes to hand & eye coordination, I found it much easier to move the work along the lines instead of having to twist and turn the piece as you need to do...Leave a comment:

New Spiral Blades
Hi everyone...I ordered some of the new improved spiral blades from Mike and was wondering if anybody has used them? They are supposed to be better than the older spiral blades so I thought I'd give them a try. Does anyone have any thoughts on them or things I need to watch out for when using them?... -

Steve Good has made several instructional videos...including one on cutting curves...you can check them out at Scroll Saw School Index. I hope they help a bit...I know they helped me.

Thanks. I wasn't talking about Frog tape. I'm talking about ordinary green masking tape. Guess I'll have to invest in some blue tape!!

Blue Tape vs Green Tape
Hi, can anyone tell me what the difference is between the blue masking tape that lots of you use on projects to green masking tape? I've heard that the green tape is less adhesive and I would think this would make it easier to take off.

I just want to thank Shannon publicly for her help. Seems the problem was the last two digits of my customer # were not on the mailing label. Once again it shows that there are terrific people here who are willing to help with ANY problems you may have.

subscription issue.
I have a non-scrollsawing question. I tried to log in to my account for Scrollsaw magazine using both my mailing address and customer number. I took the mailing address right off the mailing label from Scrollsaw magazine which just arrived today. I am retired AF and never heard of these discounts from Home Depot, Lowes or any other business. I have my retired military ID card. Will this suffice or do I need a VA card mentioned in several other posts? How much of a discount is it normally?

Derek, Lee Valley sells various size tubes for storage. Check out the link.. Lee Valley Tools - Online Catalog. I bought the 1/2" tubes and they work great for storing extra blades. I just wrote the size, etc., on adhesive labels and stuck them to each tube.
