Thank you all, (not yall), for the encouraging comments. It has been a while since I have felt desire to create saw dust.

    Man Cave gift

My oldest son is getting a surprise "man cave" from his wife. They have a nicely appointed basement in their newly purchased home. She has forbidden him to go down there for a while. He is thinking he's getting a pony but that is just his sense of humor. He is a life long fan of the Portland...

Weell, I was shooting my 9 arrows at the target at the archery store indoor range. I was slinging 180 arrows a day four or five days a week. The coach at the store told me to knock it off and to slow down. I will admit my upper back wasn't very happy with me so I'm slowing down. At his "suggestion",...

Well, yesterday, I shot my 18 in the morning. The grands came over and I got one of em to try it out. I had to demonstrate so I got another 12 or so in. Last night I finished up with 90 for the day. Going to challenge myself to one hundred arrows a day for one hundred days. Made an excel spreadsheet...

I measured off 10 yards and started slinging. easy enough to hit the 4x4 backer and close to the coffee can lid I stuck to it. 18 shots and that was enough for a few hours. Cripes, I'm getting old.

    A new toy.

I purchased a new toy today. A recurve bow kit and half a doz. arrows. I got by with less than $200 bucks. I swung by Home Depot and got a 4x8x2" sheet of foam board cut in half for 4x4. I'll use that for a target backer, arrow catcher.
The bow is only 25lb draw so this old guy can have fun...

    Inkscape question

I have a pattern I want to cut smaller. It is a pdf file pattern of a toy that Steve Good made. How do I change the size and not lose the squareness? I look at utube videos but they are way to general going on about ratios and math and I get frustrated. Just click here here and here and you are...

  • The puzzles are Steve Good kitties. The boxes are modeled after a box a fella in Hawaii made for me back in the late 70s. Cripes, I'm old.

Finally got some gumption and got the gifts made and wrapped.
The boxes are fifteen inches long and five and a half wide, made of pine and BB ply. Danish oil finish only. These should last years....

    Either way.

I realized something. Even if I'm not using it, the scroll saw is gathering dust. More lately as it has been put to work with projects for the grankids. Photos later, perhaps, if i remember.

  • You have amazing recall. When I fell from the step ladder I remember being hit by a tree limb then was on the ground. Glad you aren't broken with all that pinball action.
