Antori,
That is a great trick with adjusting the blade. I know of some people who add a thick board to their table to raise the height and get more out of the blade. I haven't tried that for two reasons. One is that I find that the heating and cooling of the blade leads to metal fatigue and the...

Wow, that is four pieces per square inch and how in the heck are you getting two hours and twenty minutes of cutting plastic and wood out of one blade?
Beautiful work Antori.

Amy Finley Scott (amyfinleyscott.com) paints directly onto the wood and Jay Hollis (bogartspuzzles.com) went thru a lot of effort to find a method to print his original artwork directly onto the wood. The ink would be absorbed randomly with the grain and varying density of the wood and the colors were...

"Double dissections" have been around for a long time. You don't need to be nasty and use the same image but if you like that sort of thing you could use Dave's trick (Fool's Gold Puzzles). He reverses the bottom image so that the pieces have the same image on top and bottom. Incorporate a...

I hate the shine and most of my puzzle-doing friends dislike it as well. Other choices: blair (very low odor) Spray Fix, Grumbacher Final Fixative, Krylon Workable Fixative.
I find that different brands react differently to various print methods (home, office, professional) and get very consistent...

Hi Dee,
Many saw tables are cast aluminum now so the magnets are not a problem. Did you try yours? I used the sheet magnets (used for signs, etc). Blade speed is important or it will be just like the Muggle said and smear black glue. I found this at motorcycle shops. Don't ask me, I looked online...

Puzzle Parley -- Final Notice?
This will probably be the final reminder to the subscribers of this list about Puzzle Parley XII. It is being held in Salem MA at the Hawthorne Hotel, August 1-3. We have reserved a block of rooms at a special rate and there are only a small number left. If you were planning to attend, now is the time...

That is definitely something that I gotta try! Beautiful work! If you want to "branch out" into this area you should check out some of Steve Malavolta's work.
Cheers,

Incredible Dee! That's downright beautiful. Did go a little spin crazy cutting the outside edge? That must have been either very tedious or very stressful to cut all those knobs.

I get shrink wrap from University Products | Archival Supplies, Conservation & Preservation Storage It is archival quality. Some shrink wraps can break down and "sweat" oil which will cause damage.

Shawn,
Beautiful work, as always! A quote I have at my desk at work, "Everything in life is a lesson, if you do not learn the lesson, the lesson will be repeated". It always hurts when the lesson involves a treasure. Great job of alleviating a hurt.
Cheers,
Joe S.

I've found the same to be mostly true but a couple of families tell me that it has become a holiday tradition to get out all of the Christmas card puzzles and put one or two together each night.
I also like the "frame tray" style and search out card designs that work well for that...
