    Re: Tools

One of the ways I have found out what tools to get is to take some classes or seminars that are offered around the country. All instructors have their favorite tools but you soon learn what you need. I have about three times as many as I need but all of them seemed important...

The tape everyone is talking about I have purchased at our local walmart. I also buy it from our local vet. They use it to wrap animals legs and such. It also helps your fingers from getting sore when holding different shapes. I would never carve without the...

    Re: Carved golf balls

Great idea on the stop block behind the blade. Now why didn't I think of that. Might save a finger or two and if you did slip, well maybe a cut only as deep as the blade would cut into the golf ball. Thanks a lot for the tip.

Very interesting subject. I hope someone comes up with a web site where we can go to learn more. If so, please post. I always wanted to carve a fish that was jumping out of the water.

I have wanted to get a duplicate carving machine for a long time too. I just don't know how good they are for the price they want for them. If someone does reply I will wait on the edge of my seat for the information.

Thanks. I will do that. I've been told it makes a better white than white paint. I will give it a try.

How do you cut the holes in the mushroom Donna? I think I would love to make one for hunting mushrooms. I can get the Osage Orange but wasn't sure how you carved the holes out. Thanks.
