Volcanic Ceramics? Nice write-up. The pictures are really great.
We have a couple of vendors who specialize in Mexican small craftsman artworks, mostly in metal, along with the unique candy and food items, and straw hats. I suspect their sources are a lot further north from you. ...

Jim, welcome to unemployment. You loved what you were doing, and now there are other things to love doing. Made that transition 25 years ago, and still find every day a fun challenge. Best wishes.

On the EX, reverse the bottom set screw and thumb screw so the thumb screw is on the left. That one thing went a long way to solving my problem with the blade coming out of the clamp. It also keeps you from overtightening unless you are a lefty. Also replace the inserts regularly depending on us...

Yes, well worth it. If you can get a picture, the other side of the saw should have the on/off switch and a variable speed control. Parts are still available.

Good for you, Bill. Love mine and cut a number of stacked portraits/fret of western critters. and it is much easier with the EX than the DW. I mostly run at max speed with no issues....

I sort of mildly disagree about the revenue. Personally most all my purchases from FC have been as a result of the forum.
I found FC because I found the forum. Your offerings are not available in the stores out here in the upper left hand corner of the map. I suspect...

Congratulations on the new EX. I picked up a used DW Type I about 6 years ago for $225. The local tool store has a mint pre-owned Type II for $275. I think you are in the right range....

Rolf and Carol are correct about overlap. Run it for like 10 minutes and check the tension. Sometimes I have to trim the tail a bit to get the tension right. The Klingspor rolls I have purchased have pre-marked cut lines for the various size drums. The Zirconia rolls are in the range of $110 each,...

Randy, I think you are correct. I use a 36 grit for leveling or removing flutter marks, and several passes at 120 grit to smooth it, then a 220 grit for a "final" finish

Rolf, thanks. I have a DW and an EX. I am intrigued by your love of the Hawk, On mine it is a brass barrel with a set screw. Take it out of the clip, get the pliers and a screwdriver and spend time trying to line everything up and secure the blade. Pretty temperamental, won't allow top feeding....

Rolf, I am not understanding your comment about clamps as part of the arm. I keep spare clamps on hand, and it uses two hex bolts to remove and change out the clamp. Attached to the arm, but easily removable and replaceable.
