  • Another amazing trip. If you don't want the bamboo kitchen, tell them I'll be happy to put one in my house and let it be a demo kitchen. The flooring is gorgeous. It would look good in here as well. I'm officially floored!

My deepest sympathy to you and your family. When I hear of the passing of a pilot from The Greatest Generation, I'm always reminded of the following poem. Aviators are certainly a special group and to a man, or woman, never forget the thrill of flight.

Hey, Amico. You will be very close to Hong Kong and Macau. My mind is boggled at the number of things you can do there that will (notice will instead of can) get you into trouble. Buon Viaggio!

Trust that I LOVE doing intarsia and this pelican, the first time, was great. It is complex and has some very tiny pieces that can stretch patience. Glad you liked the finished product.

This is the fourth pelican. All have been custom orders, otherwise there would never have been a second one.

    Another Pelican

Here's what I hope is the last #$%^& pelican for a while. Woods are mulberry, spalted maple, blue pine, aspen, poplar, yellowheart, sapele, walnut, pink dogwood, and cherry.

Try this: Run the saw at the slowest possible speed and put a piece of white paper on the opposite side of the blade from where you're standing. The odds are pretty good that the blade will look blurry and as if it is moving back to front as it's running. If that's the case, loosen the screws...

Absolutely call Ray. His is a small shop run by him and his wife. His customer service is probably the best on the planet and he will help you solve the problems you're having. I made the mistake of buying my EX-21 from Woodcraft and found that it had probably been dropped at some time or other....

Excellent results, Mike! You must be doing something right and listening to the doc's advice. Be careful for a week with that wrist and then I suppose you can hang from a trapeze if you really want to. Always nice to hear good news!

Markdavd is right. I've used them for stained glass and intarsia and can always count on the patterns being accurate.

If I need large patterns copied, I go straight to a blueprinter. They will copy any pattern to the exact size you specify and there is no distortion. After all, they do plans for very intricate building and machinery projects all the time. Not long ago I had a lighthouse pattern copied and asked...

Good advice about something to catch the piece when the sander tries to fling it into another dimension. I got a plastic shower curtain liner and hung it a couple of inches from the wall behind my sander. The launched delicate piece I was sanding hits the soft plastic, slides down into a pocket I...

Bob, I agree with everything you have said and applaud you for your generosity in caring for foster children. Unfortunately, the boys at the facility I was interested in helping have been in foster care since they were small children and have had no biological parents in the picture for a very long...
