Now that's impressive. I know what you mean about cutting letters. Not my most favorite thing, either. Great job, though!

Cutting names for Christmas
I tried a new font for cutting names. It requires a bit of modifying to make it work on the scroll saw but the results are worth it. The three names are my own cursive handwriting. The font for the Bubba cut from solid walnut is Billy Argel Font. It stands about 3 inches high. You do not have permission to view this gallery.

I like them both but the one for the veteran is my favorite. I'm partial to vets, being one myself. I'm sure the gifts will be well received. And Rolf is right...expect tears....

necklace holder
I have been wanting something to display my cross necklaces but finally decided to use a cross design and make one of my own. Nothing fancy, but it does the job, and it's much better than just having the crosses in bags in a basket. This way they are easily seen and may start selling. I agree, Randy. I really like the carving but not everyone will have the tools to accomplish it. However, it will still make a nice project for even beginners.

I used one of my cross necklaces I designed to make a very simple cross. It's about 10 inches high and 5 inches wide. I cut it from 3/4 inch walnut and finished with a spray polyurethane, with a saw tooth hangar on the back. The grooves are from my power carver, but it isn't necessary for this design....You do not have permission to view this gallery.

Thank you both for your gracious comments. I think there are more than a few who either overlook or forget about our treasure trove of patterns in the vault. There are some beautiful patterns there.

2 crosses; amazing love and end of the trail
I haven't posted anything for quite some time. Things have changed but I like the new format. These are two crosses that I cut today. One out of walnut, about 8 inches high. The other out of oak, about 10 inches high mounted on a walnut base. ...

Impressive cutting. The images came out inverted on my computer but there is no denying the work that went into these. Great job!

Beautiful. I, too, have this book of patterns. They are wonderful. I still have not tried even half of them....
