Thanks all! Glad you like 'em! We had no trick-or-treaters this year so they went unappreciated locally. I have enough blanks left to cut a set of leaves and a set of snowflakes so plenty of future opportunity!
Combining short winter days and lots of trees means that solar lights are nigh...

Happy Hallowe'en and long time no see!
Hi all! Long time no see! (eep! six years?) My scroll saw's mostly been sidelined except for utility work, but I cracked it out this weekend to make some Hallowe'en lanterns. I use a mix, but I always clean up with vector graphics on the computer.
Depending on my mood and the specific goal I may start with a pen and paper then scan it in, or I may start with a stylus on the computer. Very rarely I'll skip the pen and go straight to mouse and vectors.

Now I'm hungry. I didn't think this forum was the one I should avoid before dinner
My homemade Hostess looking cupcakes (see Chocolate Cream Cupcakes Recipe - Cook's Country ) are always a big hit. A wooden cupcake filled with sprinkles would go well.

I nail 'em together. I never figured out how to keep pieces from sliding when just the tops / sides were taped together (I know. I know. Cut the centre first. Now remind me when I start cutting). Nails through the centre cut-outs still hold once the outside's been split up.
And any excuse...

Beautiful, but not stellar. Down to Earth is closer ("down at Earth"?).
For stellar images check out NASA's site.

Very nice, Trout! Love the gears.
Rolf, that's a ring saw: the blade is a circular loop. You can get better views at the vendor's site:

Typically the blades are one piece, but they make a separating blade that...

That sounds just like my puzzle cutting!
At least the back ache part
I bet it takes me longer than 9 seconds to figure out what I want each piece to look like!
Watching the cutting at Bournemouth Echo was really something. It almost looked like you...
