I have two Hobbies A1 treadle fret saws and use leather belts made for treadle sewing machines, plenty of suppliers on ebay or Amazon.

John, as far as I know the USA machines are 120 volt 60 hz electric, we in the UK have 240v 50hz supply so a transformer will be required, you might know this but just something to check before plugging it in.

John, have a look at British Hardwoods, they do thin wood packs mainly oak. but they do other woods as well.

Beckey, here's my go at helping to solve your problem, try not looking over the top, you need to be in front of the saw either stood or sitting down, try looking down at about 45 degrees to the pattern, that seems to be the angle at which I'm looking at my patterns, you can always alter this to suit...

Abrasha, welcome to the forum, the switch in your picture looks like it's a NVR (no volts release) type, to use a foot switch you will have to bypass this. There was a discussion about this on a UK forum which may be of some help. Found a decent foot switch for my scroll saw : Scrolling - Scroll Saws...

Just a thought on something to look at especially as it's a second hand machine. Check that the cam lever hasn't become bent more than it should be. This can happen when then adjusting nut is done up too tight and extra pressure used to close the cam.
