I have looked into this issue and have contacted vBulletin (the company that hosts these forums). The issue with the "#" is not a bug or problem but actually a feature that they added to the latest version...

Image Posts / Uploading Photos - Resizing results in error - Vendor investigating
There have been mixed results with uploading images/photos to the forum.
Most images upload without issue but upon changing the size of an uploaded image there is an error. The vendor is looking into this.
Please reply to this topic ONLY with image posting errors. Thanks.... -
Forum "FLASHING" Issues - Profile Setting Change seems to fix this issue
We've had reports of forum pages "FLASHING" for some time and just received a response from the vendor that seems to have worked for us.
Login and go to your USER PROFILE settings and make sure of the following:- Automatically Detect DST is set to "NO"
- Is DST Currently
You do not have permission to view this gallery.

I'm trying to determine why this is happening to some members too. It seems hit or miss on configurations, I have not seen a specific configuration that will cause this, nor have I been able to duplicate it in any of my setups. To not post with Facebook, you need to do two things.
First you need to have a normal forum membership and not use the Facebook Connect feature to login. bluelucky, you already have that one down, no need to do anything else.
Secondly you need to make sure to not be logged...Leave a comment:

This is part of the Facebook Connect feature that we added some time ago. You might want to try to visit the following url to see if it will connect correctly:

Arcy, Keystone, I see your points. I can't think of a simple way of incorporating a per user setting like this into the site/usercp, however the functionality is already built into the forum. I can set you up with a bookmark that would take you to a new post page with just the categories you are looking...Leave a comment:

I think this is doable, can you hash out a little more what you mean by groups, or what would be more helpful to you? I don't think we can do this per-user so it would be a site-wide change, but are you looking for something like:

- New Intarsia/Fretwork Posts(new

I'm going to be messing with the font size in the next few days or so.
