I wonder if their effort to offer better quality products may have something to do with it. Seems like they want to market themselves as something more than just a cheap tool supplier. Maybe reducing the number of things eligible for the big discount coupons is part of a campaign to change their image....

I've owned both tilting table and tilting head saws. My current saw is an EX-21 (pre-Chinese made version) with the tilting head. I have to say that for beveled cuts, I much prefer the EX over my previous tilting table saws (Craftsman and Dewalt). I think a lot of it is the rack & pinion angle...

I had a Dewalt for several years. It was a fine saw. I eventually sold it and upgraded to an Ex-21 (shortly before producton moved to China), which I am quite happy with. However, I would have no problem if I had to go back to a Dewalt.
Your EX-30 must be pretty old. I didn't think...

I've only ever seen box elder in pictures. Stunning colorization. I wonder if it holds up when finishes are applied and/or exposure to UV light....

The days of stand alone, "Made in America" tool companies has long been just a fading memory in the minds of aging baby boomers. I think the most surprising thing these days, is how often these tool companies change hands and/or are absorbed into ever larger corporate conglomerates....

The upright looks similar to the Kobalt I bought last year.
It is much quieter than my old Cambell Hausfeld compressor. I wouldn't be surprised if they are made in the same factory....
