Oh, I feel your pain Randy. so much to try and learn and so little time. I have done many other crafting type things over the years. Still have most of the equipment and supplies. I am presently exploring cloning so I can have the me who does scrolling, the me who does pyrography, the me who does...

Actually, a lot of people who make their own silver jewelry pieces with silver clay do this with a rock tumbler already. Just the inexpensive kind you can get at harbor freight works. They use stainless steel shot usually in them but I think there are other things some use (its been a long while since...

  • That looks stunning Denny and I can see why it took you most of the afternoon. I would have thrown it against the wall no doubt. LOL I am always impressed with the beautiful work you turn out and show. You are one patient man to work on this. Thanks for showing.

John, not Randy but I can point you in a couple of directions. First, Randy has a site with lots of detailed information about coin cutting, the address is in his signature line of any of his posts, www.coincutting.com. Then, SSWC magazine (who’s forum we are on) just publishe an article with Randy...

Sounds like progress is being made Betty. See, thst’s The problem with jobs like that around the house, it just keeps growing and growing - first cabinets, now painting, new flooring - then something else. Pretty soon it’s everything!

Yeah! Mine arrived today in the afternoon mail delivery. Haven't taken time to sit down and peruse it yet. Thought I would wait until after dinner and enjoy it rather than a quick flip through. hopefully others got their's today as well. I think part of the problem is that the postal service has...

  • Very nice Karl. I love all the stickmen patterns Steve is populating the world with. My kitchen cabinets are Alder wood. It is a beautiful wood when finished. Have not tried cutting any of it yet though. Although I did pickup a small piece a week or so ago to try out. Thanks for sharing.

replied to BLUE PINE at Lowes
They have had some at my local Lowes for a little while now, at least a month or more. I have looked at it once or twice but most of what they have had that I noticed at least was the tongue and groove only. So I didn't bother getting any. However, unlike Scott, when I looked at what my Lowes had,...

  • I'll chime in here. Two of whom I believe most consider some of the preeminent Intarsia artists, Judy Gale Roberts and Kathy Wise, both have stated that at times, you may find it necessary to use a dye or stain on wood to get the exact color your art calls for. I believe both tend to be "purist"...

Good to hear its another good issue and should be coming soon. I usually don't get mine until a week or so after others initially post here that they have gotten theirs. Let the count down begin since Betty has gotten hers.
