I had just gotten the Petersons' book for Animal Puzzles and that is what it says, that she puts a rubber band around the pieces to hold them together. Others I have read do like Trackman and sand the wood before they cut so they have limited sanding to do once cut....

  • Denny, I am always in awe of the beautiful work that you do. Especially when cutting text. I am in awe of everyone who does that well. As a newbie - cutting texti intimidates me, it scares me, it makes me run and hide! I've tried a couple times. I know I need to try more. I so love the word...

While I have been many places in the US, I have many more that I need to see. But yes, I agree, America is one beautiful country. Please thank your son for his service to our country and the world.

Thanks for more insight. Yes, I had looked yesterday and you are right no auxiliary shaft on the SuperMax so will see eventually other choices. He has it setup now in its new home and has it setup with the dust collection system. All of the tools are tied in to it. I will get pics when he's done...

Hi Ken and welcome from East TN. I'm relatively new to the saw and scrolling myself. Lots of great people here ready to help and answer questions, provide insight, and more - you just have to ask. We also like to see pictures!

Thanks for asking that great question and thanks to Denny and Rolf for answering it. Thanks Carole for adding your insight. He's almost done in the shop I think. We don't have a sand flee but he did get a SuperMax Drum Sander (thanks for that recommendation Rolf) but will have to see if there is...

  • Sorry for your bad week, hopefully you are done with it and things will look up. Dan, I hope things are going better for you and yours as well. Unlike you, I was ready to get 2018 started and be done with 2017. I pray that everyone here finds things to enjoy and be happy about this coming week!

Thanks Denny and Rolf for answering. Will have to figure out where I might could "add" one once hubby is finished reworking the workshop and tools layout.

Looks like you have done a lot of sanding with that one Denny. Glad you were able to get a new one. What do you attach yours to? One item I haven't gotten yet.

  • Thanks Scott, I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Mike. Sounds like my loss. My condolences to the family. I did want to note that I did see on one of the Scrollsaw Facebook groups I saw where someone had offered to help with the Urn so hopefully they have the help they need.

Both yours and Jim's projects look great. Hubby is using some old boards from an old barn on his parents' property to make my "missing' shutters (ie. missing in that we never got them when we built the house almost 12 years ag! - he was suppose to build them - 12 years later he finally...

Good luck Rolf! Will be great when it is done no doubt. Sorry about the missed time in the shop. I've been out of ours for a bit too. Various reasons including Hubby's decision to "rearrange" things since I had horned into the space. Plus, he got a lathe last year, then we got the sanding...

Those look very nice Denny and so nice of you to help your friend out with the school's fund raiser. I am sure they will be well received. Thanks for sharing and thanks to DonR for helping you out with a great pattern.
