  • In my previous post I forgot to mention that you should avoid making the jig too tight against the work piece, I feel that it squeezes the wood into the blade. I am also sure that we get a bad batch of blades now and then and they'll break no matter what we do.

  • As Carole said, it MUST be square. Also,when I was breaking blades making a chess set I found that I had too much tension. I use a jig to hold the work and cut at a slow speed. Finally, be absolutely sure that the ends of the blade are free of oil used in their manufacture. I sand all of mine and...
