Stylized Owl
This Stylized Owl is a pattern by Sue Mey. Made from 1/2" x 6" x 6" Red Oak. Cut on the Pegas Scroll Saw using Pegas #3MGT blades. After a light sanding, dipped in diluted Shellac, light sanding again, and one coat spray Lacquer Clear Satin. Comments welcome. You do not have permission to view this gallery.

Loosing tension or blade slippage is a function of the Set Screw and or the Thumb Screw. Yes, you can sand the screws, but I recommend replacement. I have them on my website: artcraftersonline.comLeave a comment:

The rule of thumb is 3 teeth in contact with the wood at all times. Based on what you are cutting, more important is the size of the blade. I use Pegas #5 or #7 MGT blades for 3/4" stock.
If you find you are pushing the wood rather than guiding, the blade may be dull.Leave a comment:

Reminds me of the old Red Green Show out of Canada and the Possum Lodge😂 1Leave a comment:

I use 3/8"backer when I want to apply a hanger. I have the nailless sawtooth hangers on the website.Leave a comment:

Welcome to the forum from Tennessee. I purchase from Ocooch Hardwoods. Both sides finished and ready for the scroll saw. Good prices, but expensive shipping.Leave a comment:

I bought one from Lowe's but returned it within a week and bought a DeWalt....Leave a comment:

I will agree with Scott (NC Scroller). I prefer Baltic Birch plywood.Leave a comment:

Carole, I did a short video on tensioning. If you are on Facebook, it is on my Facebook page ArtCrafters Scroll Saw. You might have to scroll down to see the video.👍 1Leave a comment:

I guess I will chime in on this post. As a seller for Pegas, I sold many scroll saws through the last four years. I also have a demo unit here at ArtCrafters. Many including my demo have had very few problems. Not saying problems may occur. I agree with what Linda mentioned about Pegas service....👍 1Leave a comment:
