I started this tonight made out of 1 1/4” oak. Got a lot of sanding yet to do.

Very impressive especially with white oak that thick. That is not easy wood to scroll.
If I may suggest something. If you drill your entry holes closer to the corners of your internal cuts you can cut straight into the corners and eliminate those “bumps” you are trying to sand out.Scott
