    Thank you gift

    Made this for a gentleman who was trying to get a 30 year old ham radio back on the air. Radio was too far gone and he would not let me compensate him for the time spent trying.
    So, I found a piece of 5/4 mystery wood in the pile for the the body and I have some 1/4" black poplar for the overlay name. Made the pattern(s) in PowerPoint.
    As per my usual, Watco lacquer to finish/seal.

            Great job Jim, nice choice on the script font for his name. Never heard of Black Poplar, but then again, I don't get around much

              It's just regular poplar that had a black cast to it. Everyone has seen the yellows and greens and sometimes purple, but this stick is black.
              Most people would have culled it, but I just thought it would have a use at some point.

                Our appt is next week, I think. We are going to another county as ours doesn’t have enough. So they say. First one was cancelled for 2/1 as they had to make sure they had enough for the 2nd shot. Applied the next day and got the same appointment they cancelled. Go figure.
