This piece was cut and carved from a 14" x 11" x 1" board of African Sapele.
Scrollsaw Pattern is by Designer George Ahlers.
Coloring of the fox is with oil stain using a dry brush technique.
Finish is Polyurethane Satin

I know what to do with ground squirrels. They dig up my potted plants and garden flowers. I feed them peanut butter with bird seed....in a trap! SNAP SNAP SNAP. I get rid of dozens each year.

Thank you to my scroll saw colleagues, Scott, Quartz 43, Karl, and Linda for your continued interest in my projects and for the very nice comments. Linda in regard to your suggestion about my avatar subject, that carved fretwork piece has been completed and was already given to a very special person. Quartz 43, I have seen reports that even when they are transported 5 miles away and released, they will return. Also, saw a report that a farmer spray painted their tails and then took them ten miles away to be released and yes, some of them returned. Quartz your solution is simpler and effective.

At least your varmits are kinda cute. We've been seing an increased number of roof rats....which actually love to burrow in the ground around the outside of your house and destroy roots as well as sprinkler systems. I've never seen them before this year. Then again we haven't had any rattle snakes around the house this year. I guess the snakes did have a purpose. Crud.

Thanks Dave, for the fine comments. I noticed that we are neighbors in Pennsylvania. I live in Pocono Lake. We'll have to get together to discuss the finer points of scroll sawing. The numbers of folks interested in this hobby are dwindling.
