  • "BOBCAT LOOKING AT YOU"

bobcat 5.jpg Working on this project during the quiet times of the coronavirus situation.
} Wood selected was a beautiful white oak board, one and a half inches thick.
} The edges were routed to form a frame.
} The bobcat and mountain were drawn.
} Scroll work was done using Flying Dutchman spiral blades.
} Carving was completed with a Foredom rotary power carver with assorted burs and cutters
} The oval and background was routed out.
} Initial staining was accomplished using a mixture of Rub on Poly and artist oil paints in a dry brush technique.
}The eyes were done by imbedding gemstone dust in clear epoxy.
} Additional staining will be done with adequate drying time between successive coats.
} Finally, a protective finish will be applied.

AMAZING!!! Now that i'm getting interested in carving, I'll have to try something like this. I have your giraffe pattern and thought that would be a good start. Welcome back!!

Great job,Dick. Unfortunately, carving is not included in my job description, after seeing this artwork, I wish it were.

} Backer board (1/8" plywood) is painted with flat black paint
} Backer board is applied to back of this bobcat project
} Hardware for hanging and wire are attached to back
Thank you for your interest. Dick

I like that PDF. This is something that Denny brought up on the phone last Friday as well. I told Denny that afternoon that the set screws would be something that I would not have thought of. We also talked about tightening the blade to much. I seem to have the tendency to over tighten the bottom clamp....
