    Oven pull an trivit

I haven't put a finish on it yet. Both are from the same piece of red oak. The darker areas are stained Zars mocha.
I'll incorporate two hangers on the back so it can be used as a picture frame horizontally and vertically. There will also be a stand to store and display both pieces

Thanks Dan, Nope it's iron. It's an axle bearing from a train car.

yea, they come back when the weather warms up. how's your limp comin'. They finally agree the pain in my right hip isn't in my head. The joint bone on bone. I squeak like an old wagon wheel and my hip sounds even worse.

started a topic oven pull again

    oven pull again

Lost my camera a couple of weeks ago so I went on amazon and pick up aused fujifilm for $45 and free shipping and had to try it out so here ya go. It has buttons and takes pretty good pix.

The outer plates are red oak about 10MM each and the center plate is 1/8" butternut stained dark with a torch. (Drys really fast). I make them in three pieces because I want any text to be legible from both sides. I goofed on this one. I stack cut the text first and forgot to compensate for the long name and couldn't get the right alignment when I flipped the plates to cut the outline. I had to remove and flip the text too. I'll post the results tomorrow after it's shaped and finished.
The trivet is also red oak 1/2" planed just enough to take a very slight warp out. I keep changing my mind as I cut this one so we'll have to wait and see what it will look like.
