      wow,thats fantastic,
      if it were not too big,i would dip it in a oil based finish,
      that kind of would ,would look lovely oiled
      not doing much
      and busy doing it

        Dan, I have always had good luck with Formby's Tung Oil Finish. Can be wiped or brushed. 3 to 4 coats usually does it. Comes in either low or high gloss. Will also "pop" the grain. Oil base finish will give it a slight yellow or amber tint though. Very nice cutting.

          The Hegner like some other saws have a sweet spot or not so sweet spot where they may vibrate. I know they need to have a solid footing.

          I assume you are talking about changing the stroke length. Looking at the manual it says you can shorten it for cutting thin wood and or metal. I have never known anyone that did that. We have several Hegner owners in our club. I am not one of them.
