  • Rocking Chair w/Archery in mind

Hello folks, I know I have not been on for some time. I hope everyone is well?

This is a gift for an archery friend of mine. This is a modified version from "Bernie McKruit". I did a few things different used thinner wood and made it from Black walnut. Still picking out the finishing methods.

Very nice. Dip it and deft it.

      Thanks Mike.
I tried a test piece with BLO/MS mix and I used Tung oil on another. Both pieces wgot a coat of Poly. Once everything dries Ill see which looks richer.

I built one of those rocking chairs out of cherry. It is one of my favorite projects. Your archery twist is a nice touch! Post some pictures after you put the finish on it.

            Finished

Done. Finished off with several coats of BLO only. No Poly. Wife and friends kept insisting that this piece looked better naturally. Im not so sure. I like the play that Poly gives wood.

              Glad things worked out.

I just updated my older PC. The hard drive was 500 gb and eight years old. I cloned it to a one TB SSD (solid state drive). Put the cloned drive in and worked perfectly with all my old programs. The computer is now much faster. The new drive was about $100 and...

Once upon a time ( in the 70's) i attempted bow hunting. I believe the bow had a 45 pound draw. I quickly learned that it was not for me. It takes lot of hard work and practice just to be fair at it. Good is a whole different level. I hope you do better than I did.

So glad you are back up and running. You will be awed by the speed of your new drive, fresh drivers, and cleaned up files. Spring housecleaning!
