  • Oven pulls again

It always bugged me that the text on oven pull was backwards on one side.
These four pieces will make two pulls that will read from both sides. I'm going to make each pull half ceder and half birch with a dark something for a mid section

How does it read the proper way on both sides? It has bugged me as well.

Ya gotta make two patterns an cut it twice. I'm using some of the thin pieces I got from Larry as a center plate (backer) . Them glue the three pieces together the shape and finish normally.
Sorry about the last word. My wife tried to explain it to me but I think she's nuts.

Oily you always make me laugh with some of your comments.
Larry's wood sure comes in handy doesn't it.

None of the pieces i got from Larry are large enough for that. I'll have to consider your new method. Adds quite a bit of material and tie to the project. Trying to keep the price down.

Mike, Just take your normal pull blank and resaw it down the middle and make your cuts on both pieces in the correct direction then glue them back together with any piece of thin stock in between. Color the center piece as needed.
This one still needs to be sanded and shaped but should give you an idea of what I mean. I've been doing this with key fobs too for the same reason.
Both my key fobs and pulls are made as a rule from the scrap bin it only increases the sweat equity and a little glue and produces a much nicer end result. I got alot of thin sheets from Larry and they are perfect for centers. Many of the small square sticks are making great hangers for portraits and other pieces.
