    Dick,

Since Sally & I visited with you and Mary a couple of years ago, I have been busy with lots of other scroll saw as well other wood working projects. During that period since our visit, I have been anxiously looking forward to trying your carved fretwork technique. Presently I...

Congratulations! I did not have any idea of your carving experience when presenting that starting project, Quartz...

It is normal to feel intimidated but don't let that stop you. Select one of your fretworks that is not on your favorite's list and start with that. You can also start with a line drawing pattern, like a teddy bear. Lower the background all around the bear. Then round off the arm and legs. Lower...

I received my back copy with this project in it and am studying it. I think that I will look for something a bit easier for a first try. I have the carving tools and bits already and used them for Intarsia.

Eventually, I will find the best first project to attempt.
