Toy jeeps

Although I have been scrolling for over 25 years Jeep 01.jpg Jeep 92.jpg 6 x4 ins.jpg I found this project most exacting.

Not exactly a Soap box Derby, I have made a few alterations in the interests of safety e,t,c,

I have also included a picture of a train I showed earlier on the forum, I thought this is a better picture..

I really like these, nice detail. Did you also do the painting? Hard to tell from the pictures but how big are they?

The Jeep sizes are overall 5 inches long x3 1nches wide.

I did the painting myself on the Jeeps, as i did the train.

The original plan was that the axles are just nails and relied on friction
to keep them running without falling out, that was not the case with the first
one I made, so I modified the plan so that I could put a 1/8 inch dowel
as an axle, some of the pieces were so thin I had to cut several again
certainly tests ones patience. Using dowels is a lot safer, I was surprised
that the Jeep was passed as a toy, kids being kids tend to run around in
bare feet, could be nasty.

Great work and patience needed to pull off these smaller toys. You did a fantastic job! I really like them.

I'm curious to know what type of paints you use if you don't mind sharing the brand name.

Hi Jim.

The paints I used are mainly aerosol spray.

The green is Rus-oleum Painters touch, craft enamel.

The red is a stores brand own name, just called Wilko's

Don't know if you will get either of these in Mexico, but I'm

sure you will be able to get some thing similar over there.

The grey i mixed up myself.

I think our Home Depot carries Rustoleum, I'll have to check them out,
