A finishing ? for Denny

I am making another batch of puzzles. Primary wood is maple. I used mostly Danish oil on the last 52 I made. I don't like the smell of it.
Betty suggested a 50/50 mix of mineral oil and thinner. It dried faster with minimal odor. Denny you mentioned you used shellac and alcohol 50/50.
I use the Zinsser sanding sealer and alcohol on my ornaments.
Denny is that what you use or do you use shellac ?

I use the Zinzer Shellac in the quart can and dilute it with denatured alcohol 50/50
