  • Acrylic Paints

This is just an FYI for those of you who paint your work with acrylics.

I just found a new acrylic paint, called PALMER PRISM manufactured by Palmer Paint Products. I have to say it's the best acrylic paint I've ever used. The colors are very true, the consistency is just right, and it blends very nicely. I've used just about every acrylic that's out there, including all the 'craft' paint acrylics to some of the 'professional' brands. This Palmer is the best I've found yet!!

(I'm probably the last to find it, but hey, just in case this helps someone, huh?) I got it at a Dick Blick's art store, it comes in 2 oz. bottles and I think it was something like $1.29 each.

      <laughing here> Sorry, Callynne - I didn't realize that the message board 'thingy' changes words they think might be offensive. <laughing again> It isn't thingy Blick's, it's <let's try this> D*I*C*K Blick's Art Supply.

If it STILL says 'thingy', it's RICHARD (short form) Blick's Art Supply. Geeesh....what a silly thingy this board does.

You know, you all have become a part of my early morning routine. Make my cup of tea, get my breakfast, log on, read the posts (used to be just e-mails and the newspaper) while eating. Glad it's not a two way video set up or you'd have seen me just spit my cereal all over the screen, laughing! I 'm not EVEN going to say what's on my mind right now on this subject, there'd probably be too many 'thingys' in it to even read it!! Callynne

What this board does with 'bad' words is just so ****ing funny. Yikes, what if someone's name is Dick? What kind of **** would that be??

Ha!! Now it's a game....can you guess what I REALLY said back there?

Laughing out loud here....probably not wise while staring at a computer screen. Those guys in the white coats are just outside my window, just waiting for a reason.....

Michele, if you're still looking for some pearl paint ... almost any art/craft store will have DecoArt acrylics. DecoArt's Dazzling Metallics comes in White Pearl and Oyster Pearl (a sort of silvery grey white). Both are a gorgeous pearl but are very transparent.
We need to see some pics of your angels ... pretty please

I tried some airbrush pearl My husband had. He said it looks great on fish decoys, different kind of angel.
Callyne, Will also try your suggestion on the antique solution.

I will get my nerve up and post my fish angels soon
Oh well mad scientist of paint Michele

I checked out www.ULine.com We used them years ago at the company I used to work at, and they were really reputable to work with. They have machines, guns, bags, and film. I just don't really know what works best, as well as if there is a really great priced to buy from. To date I've been a frugal...

Well, I used to get my shrink wrap rolls from AC Moore, and just used the last roll😟. I use a heat gun but lately and only shrink the Sealife puzzles to keep the pieces in place. I only use it on puzzles because of my display board otherwise I would have broken pieces all over the place. Also easier...

We did. I only went $40 over budget. I got a 73” x 12” x 3/4” curly cherry for $55. Just needs to be run through the sander and cut to size. It’s a pinkish cherry and is so pretty. A piece of deep red redwood, 2 pieces of walnut each about 12” wide. Good haul.
