Hi Guys
Been a while since I was active, good to be back
I fancy making some, well am going to call it freeform laminate. This will be made from end sections of small logs with the bark left on...
Here is what it would hopefully reproduce
Hand Carved Log Table Side Table or Coffee Table | eBay
I will make a pro former from 8 ftx 4ft ply with a secure 'fence' of about 1.5 inches around it, am thinking of lining this with a fine layer of sand or similar to a depth of about a quarter of an inch so things can be levelled up.
Then when all spaces are filled using a glue/resin or other bonding agent to set the sheet of log ends then plane and polish both sides of the sheet to finish with a inch thick sheet of laminate I can then cut.
Anyway the big question is WHICH bonding agent resin or glue? anyone know what would be best for this job?
Thanks in advance
sarah
