  • Iron Powder

This are raw iron particles havested from Lake Chaplain. I'm working on a better (faster) way to separate them from them beach sand. When the weather warms and the lake goes down I'll be able to get to much cleaner sources. Most of the sand that you see in the pix are small pieces of ore that still have enough iron in them to be drawn to the magnets.
Thought it would make great whisker stubble or fur areas in portrait work. You could also make area that magnets can be used for products ans displays. If you think about it there must be tons of ideas out there. I hope there are many suggestions posted.
If you are interested send me a SASE and I'll send you a sample.
Two may want to use 2 stamps because of weight so I can send you enough for a good sample.
I found it commercially available online for about $25 a pound.
If enough are interested I'll make it available. Unfortunately I can't do it free but it will be far less than above.
I won't say any more here as I'm already pushing the classified rule.
If you have questions PM or Email me.

BTW That's about a pound in the pix

Great idea. I'm thinking more on the lines of a sand garden type of thing. Gotta play with this one., Thanks again

        Weight Bags

Rob, How about filling for Weight bags .or making weight bags to hold down intarsia pieces while glueing to backer board.I've been looking for lead shot to make some, but nothing local I can find ,here yet ! loose enough to follow contures ,snug enough for even pressure.

Greetings from central Indiana. Most of the good stuff I know about scrolling, I learned here. The rest was from fixing mistakes or doing stuff again because I didn't pay attention to what I read here.
