  • Yellow wood??

I make some earrings that my daughter (and others) insists looks like bacon. She now says I need to make some eggs to go with them! So - is there any wood out there that is a bright yellow??? I need something for the yolk.

Yellowheart wood or as it is called Pau Amarello. It is an exotic. Cuts real well and mills nicely. Stays yellow and get a deeper yellow with aging. I use it alot for accenting. Here is a link to see it and its properties. Realitvely inexpensive.

Eggs and bacon ear rings? Wow, now there is a new idea that hasn't ever crossed my mind.

BTW, was it sunny side up or a scrambled egg look you were looking for.

Go figure John would know what wood to use for an egg look...is there an end to his wisdom?

        Hi Teresa

Could you make them using colored acrylic sheet or something similar instead of wood? Just a thought.

John - thank you! That looks like it might fit the bill!

Sunny side up Rivari! LOL If I get them made I will post a picture.

Gill - I hadn't thought of that - thank you! If I can't find the wood, I will try that.

SSWWC and the older CWWC magazines were and are still a great source of for my Christmas ornaments. I can't count the times we have gone through the issues an said "how did we miss this one". I agree I was disappointed with the lack of Christmas and holiday patterns in last years Winter edition....

Rolf when you say taper from right to left, do you mean thinner near the body and thicker at the end of cloud as on the wing ?
And on each cloud touching the body ?

I did that with Creative Woodworks. But when Bruce's group had their monthly meetings and swaps, somehow or other the ones I didn't buy ended up here! I keep all my holiday ones separate. But I also look at other patterns and think how I can reuse it. But sometimes that is just too much for my brain...

Since I refuse to subscribe till they do something about the patterns in the pull out. They even made the DVD tough to print patterns.

What I do is look at the index of the book on scrollsawer.com and if see something I might want to cut I go to Walmart and check out the book. If I like...
