Original DW-788 Dewalt scroll saw made by Excalibur & sold by Sommerville

    Hey Folks,

I'm trying to find a new owner for my Dewalt/Excalibur. I am hanging up the woodworking/scroll sawing hobby. I moved to Florida & it's just too HOT to do ANY kind of woodworking here.
I have an original Dewalt DW-788 made by Excalibur & sold by Sommerville that I would like to sell to a scroller who would appreciate it. I am the original owner of this saw and I purchased around 1996 or 1997 ??? Is there a following or a market for this machine or just take a chance on Craig's list ? I currently live in SW Florida. Saw is in excellent condition for its age as I have taken extremely good care of it. Includes original stand. Thanks for your time. Mike

Yes, there is a market for the original. I think there are a couple other FL scrollers on this site. There are also a few on the Scrollsaw Village site. I would try scroll saw sites before I attempt Facebook Market Place or Craigslist.

Great wood selection! Is the tree Red Oak? Will this be a n active puzzle or just display? I ask because there are some delicate cross grain areas in the tree. Please post a picture after you put the finish on.

Finally, a chance to reply. Still doing a lot of repairs and replacement work at my brother in law's. After the long drive up, doing whatever my wife wants done and then the drive back I really don't have much ambition left.

Anyway, when I'm in a wood store I usually avoid looking at the...
