  • Seyco Dust Collector

I set up the Pegas scroll saw at ArtCrafters. Since this is an art gallery, we couldn't have a lot of dust floating around. I purchased a Seyco Dust Collector to add to the saw. I will be using the saw for test drives, demos and lessons. I connected it to the foot switch so it would only be on when the saw is running. I used a couple of extra zip ties to hold the hoses in place. After some use, I will let everyone know how it works.

That saw sure is clean. Hang those pictures as a model for cleanliness!

Jim, we will wait and see if the Seyco does its job of collecting dust.

Thanks RJ. I did give it a trial with a little project. A little dust on the table, but most in the jar.

On Seyco's website it says 62 dB. If I remember correctly a Festool vacuum says 62 dB on the lowest setting.

Denny, Sure glad you posted this. I have been looking at the Seyco Dust Collector or awhile. My Question is how does it do on the top of the table and wood. I have a solution for the bottom on my Seyco saw. I am looking for a solution to the sawdust on top. PS how do you like the Pegas saw.. I have the Pegas clamps on my Seyco and like it much better than the original clamps.

I just follow the lines and make sawdust

Hi John. There is no vacuum on the top, just under the table. After scrolling, I leave the vacuum on and push the dust through the table holes. The hose is attached with a strong magnet. Maybe it could be attached to the upper arm.

I f you want to gather the dust on top you would have to add another suction tube on top. Hawk dust collection 3.jpg

The two nozzles are attached to a PVC manifold, with a trap in it to catch the small parts that you want to keep that get sucked up.
I have a Festool vac attached running at low speed. It comes on with my foot pedal along with the saw. works great. I don;t use my blower at all.
