  • DeWalt Stopped Running

The DeWalt at our office quit running. I swapped out the switch for another switch we have for a Delta, and it still doesn't run. Any thoughts?

Did you check the fuse and brushes?

Checked the brushes, but didn't think to check the fuse. That's the culprit. Thanks!

I was going to ask the obvious, but seems you found the demon.

My next question is why did it blow the fuse?

I am with Rolf. While fuses and circuit breakers can fail, it is pretty rare. Blowing fuses typically points to a bigger issue in the motor, switch, or the wiring. It would be interesting to see if you reinstalled the switch you removed to see if it blows again

Loose connections are a chronic source for trouble. Unfortunately they are not always all that obvious and may well have been addressed during the course of troubleshooting, switch replacement etc..

Quartz you are absolutely right about the need for a good blade and proper tuning of the saw. I thought the price was a lot cheaper than I expected. Only nine ornaments

Thanks Rolf. Hard to see, but the light wood is curly maple. Beautiful

Bruce bought the Carter bandsaw fence and resaw fence at the Woodworkers show. He hasn’t used it yet but will give his ewview when he does use it. His is magnetic as he is left handed.thats what he said anyway. Will let you know how it is when I use it.
