  • A promising product

I don't like to promote one product over another but what do you do when there is nothing else like it.

We often talk about the surface of our scroll saw tables and ways to improve them. Buffing them with wax, covering them with false tables.
I just found online a film that can cover the saw table to provide a slick surface. The cover is repositionable and leaves no residue.
The overlay is a Mylar/Nylon film
It is from a company called Slick Saw.

I have not tried the product, I read about it in a magazine and checked out the site http://slicksaw.com/

I am not endorsing the product in any way but it wont hurt to read about it.

You may just want to try taking mylar and placing that on the table to see how that works.

An afterthought. I wonder if you can get plumbers teflon tape in rolls 12" wide

This looks like it could come in very handy Carl. Especially for wooden jigs and fences that I quite often make. Thanks for the heads up!

That really does sound promising. My circular saw is pretty beat up and I always put tape on it before cutting wood. This looks like it would solve the problem.

Something else you may try. My wife worked at a clinic and brought me a bunch of old xray films, you know the ones that don't turn out and they have to shoot you again. I use them when I need a zero clearance insert. Just punch a small hole in the middle. When you get an xray, ask the tech if they have any to throw away. That is if you don't mind someones femur laying on your saw.

I've got the slick saw on my shopsmith...but it wore through quickly around the blade...
